Why Border Grill?

border-grill-marquette

In the words of our owner, Dan Torres, “We’re not in the food business; we’re in the people business”. For over 18-years we’ve lived by those words and built a restaurant group defined as much by its staff as it is by our fresh, healthy menu. We subscribe to the belief you must have the right people to make a great idea happen. As a result of this, we’re always looking for the next great addition to our team. Motivated and passionate individuals push the envelope and promote continued evolution. While our success today is defined by those who have passed through our dining rooms and kitchens for eighteen fun years, our continued success and relevance (one of Dan’s favorite words) will be determined by our staff of tomorrow. We are challenged with the task of continually evolving our brand without sacrificing the quality and consistency that have become trademarks.. No small task for sure – but with the strength and determination of team members willing to take us there… we will surely succeed.

If you are passionate about the community in which we live, enjoy fun, fast paced work environments, believe in doing the right thing and desire an opportunity to positively impact a local business, we’d like to talk to you.

We provide a comprehensive training program that will teach you everything you need to know to succeed at Border Grill. Previous experience is not a must, but a great attitude is – and that’s not just an HR statement. Great attitudes are the foundation of effective teams. Our facilities are fast paced and busy offering a fair share of what we like to call “healthy stress”. You must welcome being challenged  for the experience to be enjoyable. You’ll learn a lot of restaurant specific skills, but you’ll also learn a lot of people and life skills that you will  take with you should you move on at some point.

Border Grill Benefits

Health Insurance: Offered to all eligible employees.

401(k): Offered to all eligible employees.

PTO: All employees earn time based on the number of years they are employed and the position they are in.

Wellness Incentives: We believe a healthy person is a happy person. We’ve negotiated reduced membership rates with a handful area gyms and we subsidize employee memberships up to $10.00 per month. For example: If the gym rate is $30/month, BG would cover $10 and the employee would pay $20.

Competitive Event Fund: Part of our Wellness Initiative is encouraging employees to participate in local events. It’s healthy and it helps our local economy. Border Grill employees can submit a request for assistance toward an event entry and BG may cover up to 50% of the cost. Some stipulations apply.

NorthStar Employee Assistance Program: Life is bound to throw something at each of us at some point, we might need a little help working through. Border Grill covers the full cost of this benefit. Employees may confidentially contact NorthStar and utilize their services free of charge. *Available to employees and immediate family (spouse, children).

Corporate Partner Discounts: We’ve partnered with companies such as AT&T and Downwind Sports who provide discounts to Border Grill employees.
